Join us the 4th Saturday of each month in support of the Ventura Botanical Gardens at Grant Park (with the exception of December).
The purpose of these walks is to join together for a bit of exercise, explore the spectacular nature and views of Grant Park and learn how the Master Vision Plan for the Gardens relates to the natural beauty of Grant Park. VBG Board Members are available to field your questions and provide background on the project.
The walk does includesome hills; we stay mostly to established roads and veer off on a path here and there. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a hat, sun protection, a bag for collecting litter we find along the way,and water.
The Ventura Botanical Gardens is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a botanical garden for the twenty-first century. The Gardens will be located at Grant Park in the City of Ventura, a unique site with spectacular views of the coastal landscape and Channel Islands. Ventura County's Mediterranean climate is rare, found in five relatively small areas around the planet. Celebrating the global Mediterranean Biome, the Gardens will provide education, resources and inspiration guided by the principle of sustainability. To learn more, please visit http://www.venturabotanicalgardens.com/ and join us on Facebook. Ventura Botanical Gardens, Inc. is a 501(c)3 Public Benefit Corporation. Tax ID #20-8416864

Celebrating Artists: An Intimate Look features the monumental Focus on the Masters (FOTM) Portrait Series by Donna Granata who has been photographing artists for the past two decades. The exhibition features artists who have lived or worked within Ventura County and illustrates the cultural abundance within our community. In addition, rare objects from the FOTM archives will be on display demonstrating the importance of the FOTM Resource Library and the amount of in-depth documentation involved with each artist photographed. Founded by Granata in 1994, FOTM is a highly respected non-profit educational program documenting many contemporary artists of our time. Many of the artists featured in the portrait exhibition are exhibiting in the J. Paul Getty Museum's extensive Southern California initiative Pacific Standard Time. These artists include Beatrice Wood, Otto Heino, John White, Connie Jenkins, Linda Vallejo, Jack Reilly, Wayne Healy, George Yepes and Roland Reiss among many others.
